Standard lithium-ion boosters suffer two critical drawbacks: rapid capacity loss in sub-zero winter temperatures and high fire/explosion risks when stored in closed vehicle cabins under intense summer sunlight. Supercapacitors store energy electrostatically rather than through electrochemical reactions. They function reliably from -40°C to +70°C, pose zero fire hazard, boast a cycle life exceeding 100,000 crank cycles (vs. 300-500 for lithium), and can fully recharge in under three minutes by harvesting residual voltage from a weak vehicle battery.
